On his walk to the farm, Alex must pass by some of the homes on the way, where out of the corner of his eye he can see the residents looking at him slyly, yet as soon as Alex turns to meet their gaze, they hide inside their homes, adding to the anger Alex had been building up for the day.
There is a park on the way to the farm, the park is seen with children playing in it, some in pairs and others in piles.
Alex still irritated starts walking towards the farm until he stumbles over something on the ground once again with another rock, this one was considerably bigger than the previous one, Alex kicks it out of anger at the rock, accidentally throwing it in the direction of the park, where it hits the tree in the center, going all the way through to the other side.
The children look in the direction of the stone, and then in the direction of their shooter, Alex looks at them the same way the adults looked at him; with Disgust.
The children start running for their homes.
Boy: H-help! I-I don’t want to get eaten by the monster!
Alex just stood and watched as they all ran to their homes, into the arms of their mothers and fathers.
Tired, he sat down on a swing, and stared at the ground while he rested for a while.
Alex looked towards the other swing with some reminiscence.
Girl : Excuse me sir.
Alex jumps after hearing the girl falling off the swing, from there he looked at the girl, she had long straight dark hair, dark brown eyes and peasant clothes.
Alex: DON’T DO THAT YOU BRAT!!!!
Alex gets up from the floor and stands in front of the little girl.
Alex: What do you want, brat?
Girl: My name is not brat! My name is Lucia!
Alex: Shouldn’t you be at home, brat?
(She isnt scared of me?)
Lucia: MY NAME IS NOT BRAT, IS LUCIA!
She kicks Alex’s leg lightly, although it doesn’t hurt. Clearly not being in the mood for games, Alex looks at the young woman in a way to scare her.
Alex: Hey, do you want to die?
Lucia throws her rag doll at Alex’s face.
Lucia: You’re so weird, Mr. Monster!
Alex: (Says the little girl who doesn’t get scared with me…)
Lucia: Can I sit on the other swing?
Lucia says while pointing to the empty swing.
Alex: Why are you asking me? If you want it, sit there.
Lucia: Well, it looked like you had it reserved for someone else, that’s why I’m asking!
Alex gestures towards the other empty swing, to which Lucia sits on the swing and starts looking at her rag doll.
They both remain silent as they each attend to their own business.
Alex: (Damn, I can’t relax with this brat here and the silence is killing me.)
So…your name is Lucia?
Alex: And…How old are you?
Lucia: I’m 10 years old!
Alex: I see…
Another seconds of silence pass while Alex thinks to himself about the strange attitude of the girl, even though he remembers that he has to go back to Rudolph to inform that he delivered the wheat to Canéy, so he gets up from the swing and gets ready to go to the farm.
Lucia: Are you leaving already, Mr. Monster?
Alex: Yes, I have to inform the Old Man so he doesn’t bother me later.
Lucia: I see…
Hey Mr. Monster, what’s your name?
Alex is surprised by the young Lucia’s question, turning to her he asks her a question.
Alex: Why do you want to know?
Lucia: Because I don’t like to call you Mr. Monster.
Alex remains silent for a few seconds looking at the little girl, even so, without giving her an answer yet, he turns around in the direction of the farm while walking towards the exit of the park, once there he stops when he feels Lucia’s gaze behind him.
Alex: It’s better this way.
After saying that, Alex starts walking towards the farm, leaving the girl on the swing while he felt more relieved and calmed without noticing while the young girl was curious about his answer.
Finally, after a long walk, Alex arrives at the farm and sees the hole, which is now covered with some wooden plates, you can also see Rudolph wiping his forehead after finishing some farm activities.
Rudolph: Alex? That surprises me, you’re back early.
Alex: Or maybe you are too slow, old man, I don’t know how you can complain, just deliver some bags to a house and that’s it.
Rudolph says while looking confused at Alex, after a few seconds he asks Alex a question.
Rudolph: If you knew you had to give a bag to each house, right?
Alex stares at him for a few seconds and then answers Rudolph.
Alex: Hm? To each house?
Rudolph rested one of his hands on his face while looking at the floor. After a few seconds he started laughing as he looked up at the sky.
Rudolph: I can’t believe it, go get the bags and take one to each house.
Still Alex stands still for a few seconds as he diverts his gaze to the ground. Rudolph notices Alex’s gaze and with a raised eyebrow asks him.
Rudolph: Hey Alex, are you all right?
Alex simply replies in an angry tone.
Alex: Why do I have to do that? They can come and take them away, can’t they?
Rudolph puts a hand on Alex’s shoulder.
Rudolph: I understand how you feel son, but this can help you get along with the rest of the people here-
Alex: Why would I want to get along with them?
Rudolph loses his smile somewhat and for a few seconds he stares at Alex, even so, closing his eyes, a natural smile forms on his face before answering him.
Rudolph: Okay, I won’t force you into anything you don’t want…but still….
Rudolph starts to lift Alex by the shoulder.
-Alex: O-hey! WHAT ARE YOU DOING-
Rudolph: I TOLD YOU A BAG FOR HOME, SO YOU GO AND DO IT!
Rudolph throws Alex through the air with impressive speed, Alex starts spinning through the air while screaming.
Alex: THAT DAMN OLD GUY-
Finally his flight was interrupted by a tree, where after impact he started to fall for a while ending up on the ground, the only thing he could think while he was on the ground in silence was this.
Alex: (I swear to God, when I see him again, I will kill that old man.)
