Chapter 1-28

Never Left The Field.

We see the entry point of the city where an enormous amount of bodies lay on the street, floor, and even the trees of the forest near, an interesting note is that none of these bodies were of the people of the city, all of them were of the same people that invaded the terrain this man called his home, but knowing who was the perpetrator of this, the result couldn’t be anymore obvious.

A torrent rain, blood, sweet, the courage built from fear, the adrenaline manifested like a second wind; This is what it meant to fight for your life, this is what Rudolph had felt during his onslaught against each of the men that crossed his sword, as they all fell like the droplets of rain against the stain mud from their blood.

It didn’t matter how many came at him, he did not fell back, he stood as many of them tried their best to launch themselves towards him, they were meet with the cold steel from his blade; This was the difference of those fighting a war and those who were born in it.

Rudolph could visualize the landscape around him morph, matching the depiction of a warzone between pawns rom idiotic leaders, fighting to scramble the wheat to feed their greedy overlords.

10 bandits surrounded him and launched themselves at him, Rudolph however only waited till they got close, and as soon as any of them struck, he disarmed the first by immediately breaking their weapon with his own, causing the silver shards to fly at those near that bandit, immediately puncturing the lungs of 3 them; As for the ones behind, they meet a worse fate as he simply thrusted his sword in the chest of the bandit before tossing his body towards his colleagues.

BOOM

Those who survived the initial explosion were blinded by the light of the explosion, as such, he ran to each of them, cutting the arteries on their neck, by the time they were able to see, the last one could only see the fire-fueled eyes of a man born in war and raised to win them.

All 10 of them fell and Rudolph looked in front of him, seeing that they were still 50 of them left, but unlike him, they were ALL afraid, making their numbers meaningless as he was the only one wielding his weapon with skill.

Vinny: I like you.

After so much bloodshed, a person stands in front of all the bandits, a man wearing an visible false smile, with a manic look and aura surrounding him, as if the man was the devil himself in the wasteland of corpses.

Rudolph: So you must be the one your man prayed for salvation in their last breath.

Rudolph starts to run towards the figure, but doesn’t make it three feet before he hears a familiar voice in the crowd of bandits.

Lucia: H-HELP!

Rudolph stops when he sees Lucia, pushed to the ground in front of the bandit, who picks her up by her clothes and places her in front of him.

Vinny: You don’t have fear in your eyes yet you do not submit to anybody; A nightmare made reality.

The bandit places a dagger near Lucia’s neck, who is crying and terrified.

Vinny: But even so, these were my men, you shouldn’t mind letting the little one die for your sins, right?

Rudolph tries to maintain his composure, he can’t show weakness, not now.

Rudolph: You value your man so lowly as to compare them to this child’s life?

Vinny: That’s the one problem you have; You value the life of people based on their actions, even in those who haven’t done anything to gain value.

Vinny’s grin grew wider as he picked Lucia by the hair, making her squeal and shout in pain while Rudolph only saw in silence.

Rudolph: They murdered these bystanders; What do you call that?

Vinny: A normal day in the field, right soldier?

Rudolph doesn’t respond as he stands still with his weapon at his side.

Rudolph: Name your price.

Vinny: Took you long enough.

Letting go of the girl hair, she almost falls directly onto a dagger held by Vinny at her neck, where he only holds her in place.

Vinny: Give me your life, and the girl will be spared.

The man voice struck Rudolph with his proposal, but not because of the bargain he sold, rather it was something much more simpler.

Rudolph: “Words aren’t enough to save the skin of oneself…”

The figure simply smiles and signals for a bandit to stay near the girl.

Vinny: “Actions however, are shouted directly to the soul of oneself”

Vinny lets go of Lucia, who falls onto the wet mud of the floor, where she is immediately held down by another one of Vinny’s men.

Vinny: Kill her.

Rudolph was taken aback by his words, the bandit quickly directed his dagger towards Lucia head, Rudolph gets ready to sprint towards Lucia, but before his feet responded to his command, he stopped just as the man eyes rolled backwards as a dagger made its way behind his skull towards his mouth, causing his body to stop functioning before he fell limp on the floor, but not before Vinny dragged Lucia from the floor towards his side again.

Rudolph: (W-what the…when did he move? I never took my eyes of him yet still the moment i blinked, the dagger already went through his head.)

Vinny: This is a difference between my man and I Rudolph.

Rudolph: You’re out of your mind.

Vinny: And you’re out of time, what’ll be Rudolph?

The leader rests the dagger a little harder on Lucia’s neck, where you can start to see blood spilling from the edge of it as Lucia starts to cry.

Lucia: M-mister Rudolph…

At that singular instant, Rudolph threw his weapon away from him, incrusting itself on the body of one of the bandits.

Vinny: Well done, now…bow to me.

Rudolph veins start to intensely pop out as he slowly kneels down while Vinny only looks at him with his manic smile.

Beth: Don’t do it sweetheart!

A voice is heard in the distance, one that brought immediate concern to Rudolph and joy to Vinny, as they both immediately knew the woman.
