Chapter 1-25
The Last Of Their Kind.
Alex: (Those bodies…)
Alex managed to recognize them as the remains of a charcoaled woman, the same woman he visited just the day before to leave food at their doorstep.
Alex: (I need to stop that thing from getting close to Lucia before she ends up like them!)
Alex immediately ran through each room, even if the fire was right next to him, he never once felt warm, in fact, it was almost a welcome feeling to his body, but no matter how much he checked, he could only found more bodies, until the only option left was the second floor, but there was no way to get to it.
Shame, I wanted him for myself.
Alex directed his attention towards the broken tiles of the second floor, where he saw the silhouette looking at something on the floor, although Alex didn’t give it a second thought and he jumped towards the second floor through a gap in the tiles, managing himself to land on the very weak and fragile floor, although when he did land, the silhouette once again vanished, leaving Alex to see what It was seeing; The corpse of Caney, which had been cut from the neck.
Alex only stood there in silence, remembering all the times Caney has insulted him, undermined him.
Whoever killed him, Alex felt both relieved but also extreme anger, as only had one thought running in mind.
Alex: (Killed like the animal you were, you fucking pig.)
His thoughts were interrupted when he saw the silhouette again, although this time, it was only looking at a bookshelf at the other side of the room.
Never understood their existence; They distract from real action.
Without saying anything, Alex launched himself towards the silhouette and stuck a punch, only this went though the figure and instead, broke the entire bookshelf, as well as a wardrobe, which was behind this very same.
He then immediately heard coughing coming from inside the wardrobe, followed by the sight of Lucia, who was clutching at their chest and at Mona while being curled in a fetal position.
Alex: (Lucia!)
Alex immediately broke whatever remained of the wardrobe and hold Lucia in his arms once more, where Lucia opened her eyes.
Lucia: *Cough*
M-Mister…Alex..?
Alex immediately ran through the broken window of Lucia’s room while the room finally fell apart and the rest of the ruble joined its brothering in the fires of the house, where immediately he started running towards the nearby forest he earlier that day went.
Alex: Don’t worry Lucia…
I’ll take you somewhere safe.
Lucia: Where’s…Grandpa..?
Alex was taken by surprise at Lucia’s question, nevertheless, he responded after a few seconds.
Alex: He’s dead, so don’t worry about him.
Lucia used whatever remained of her strength to sob slightly in Alex’s arms while he continued to ran through the streets of their hometown.
While running, Alex looks at Lucia, who is covered in ashes and exhausted, with tears in her eyes and Mona in her arms, although there wasn’t much road left, as they just passed by his house, they were nearing the woods, until a voice was heard was behind Alex.
Vinny: Sorry, but that brat is mine.
When Alex turned around to confront the person who spoke, all he see was an enormous amount of blood starting to fall onto the floor, it wasn’t long when he realized where the blood was coming from; His neck.
His body, without control, let go of Lucia, who fell into hands of the man standing before him, one who look almost like him, or at least his smile did.
He felled backwards onto the streets of the city, his body was not responding to any of his commands, as a matter of fact, he wasn’t even able to mutter any words, his vision began to get blurry as he could only see an unconscious Lucia be taken away in the arms of the man who just did this to him, and as his eyes began to close, he saw the silhouette once more, this time however, it got closer to him, till finally, his eyes shut.
Alex felt as if he was floating through a black, endless place, his eyes remained shut, yet he was able to see the silhouette in front of him, he managed to see their yellow eyes staring at him, looking directly to him as they walked around him.
Why do you even care? She’s her granddaughter; Cut from the same cloth. Are you that blind?
Is it because she treats you differently? You are really pathetic.
Nothing will change, you will always be a monster, so just accept that nature of yours.
If you wont accept it by my word…
The silhouette started to fade away as chains began to wrap around Alex, leaving from there, lighting struck the ground of the city, falling directly on top of Alex’s corpse, and as the rain finally starts to pour in heavily, Alex’s body begins to stand up on his own two feet in an abnormal way, almost as if his torso was being pulled by a string until he was finally standing upright, his eyes glowing in that same yellow color from before, and his expression was now replaced by an extreme manic smile.
Then be buried alive.
