Retribution of the city.
Rudolph just watches the scene while Lucia looks at her wrist for a few seconds.
Caney: That goes for you too Lucia, you can go to your room~.
Rudolph rests his hand on the girl.
Rudolph: Go, I’ll take care of that troublemaker!
Lucia just looked at him for a few seconds and after looking at her doll one last time, she walked back to her room.
Caney sits back down while the remainder of his tea.
Caney: I think we both understand what will happen, don’t we?
Caney: I’ve forgiven you in the past for the trouble that monster has caused, but-
Rudolph: Don’t call him that.
Caney simply remains silent, Rudolph continues what he was saying.
Rudolph: He may cause trouble from time to time, but he is not a monster, he is my son, and you will call him as such.
After he finished listening to what Rudolph had to say, he finally broke into that smile he always wears.
Caney: All right, Alex, your son, he’ll be-
Beth: Expelled? My star will be expelled?
Beth can barely hold back her tears as Rudolph comforts her.
Rudolph: I didn’t want this either, but there was no way to fix what Alex caused today, I tried to persuade him but I couldn’t change his answer…..
Beth doesn’t respond after Rudolph finishes what he wanted to say.
Rudolph: Luckily we have until tomorrow for Alex to retire, we can get Kenai to take him with her, she might even try to do the adventurer test-.
Beth: Do you think I care about that…?!
Rudolph falls silent after his wife’s shout.
Beth: You’re telling me that tomorrow our son, our star will be gone from our lives forever?
Rudolph: Th-that’s not true sweetheart! We can meet outside the city to visit him!
Beth slowly begins to cry in Rudolph’s arms, who does nothing but caress his wife’s head while comforting her.
Rudolph: We knew this would happen someday Beth, even if it wasn’t for Caney, we knew he would leave on his own someday, he is quite active.
Rudolph breaks into a smile and lets out a few tears as he holds Beth.
Rudolph: So even if it hurts and brings us a lot of sadness, we should be happy for him and push him to go out and explore the outside world and the wonders in it.
Beth stops crying little by little as she listens to Rudolph’s words.
Beth: Don’t you think I already know that? That doesn’t make me feel like my soul is breaking to have to let him go…..
Beth pulls her face from Rudolph’s chest to finally look into his face, both with tears in their eyes.
Rudolph: Heh… me neither heart.
They both look at each other for a few seconds while smiling at each other.
Rudolph: Still you think maybe it’s time to talk to him about…you know who.
Beth: Maybe we should wait until tomorrow, it’s been…too much today.
I just hope he can accept the truth….
Rudolph holds Beth’s hands as he lets out a smile.
Rudolph: I want to believe the same thing, but this is Alex’s heart we’re talking about,
Anything can happen!
Beth slightly giggles after hearing what he said, after that they both start walking towards their room, where they proceed to get ready for bed.
After some goodnight kisses and some adorable looks, Beth falls asleep, being exhausted after having used her magic, leaving Rudolph to only look out the window for a few seconds, seeing the absence of the moon.
Rudolph: …it’s raining, it looks like a big storm is coming….
Interesting, so they are going to use that?
